Streams & videos
Notifications for Twitch streams, new YouTube videos and livestreams as well as Reddit posts – with role ping, card or Discord preview.
Setup
- Dashboard → Streams & videos → “+ Notification”.
- Choose the platform, channel name or link, Discord channel and optionally a role to ping.
When you pick the Discord channel, the dashboard immediately checks whether ZoneBuddy may post there (view channel, send messages, embed links – and for a role that isn’t mentionable, “Mention @everyone and all roles”). If something is missing, it says what.
Twitch is checked every 3 minutes, YouTube every 5 minutes, Reddit every 3 or 15 minutes. For new YouTube and Reddit subscriptions, the bot first remembers the current state and only announces new things.
YouTube: videos and livestreams
Per YouTube channel, you choose separately what gets announced: New videos and Livestreams & premieres – each with its own text. ZoneBuddy only announces scheduled livestreams and premieres when they actually start, not when they’re scheduled. A stream that’s already over before ZoneBuddy sees it isn’t announced afterwards.
Display
- Discord preview (default): the message contains the link and Discord shows the preview – for YouTube and Twitch with a player right in the chat.
- ZoneBuddy card: a custom card in the platform’s color with title, thumbnail and game (Twitch). The link is still in the text, but without a second preview below it.

Stream end (Plus/Pro)
Optionally, ZoneBuddy announces when a Twitch or YouTube stream ends – with a link to the recording (Twitch: VOD if the channel saves recordings; otherwise the channel). No role is pinged at stream end. So that short drop-outs on Twitch don’t trigger a false announcement, a stream only counts as ended once it’s missing in two checks in a row.
Title filter (Plus/Pro)
Only announce if the title contains one of certain words (e.g. ranked, tournament), and not if one of the excluded words appears (e.g. reupload). Upper and lower case don’t matter, up to 10 words per list. That way, tournament streams can go to #announcements with a ping and everything else to #streams without a ping – with two notifications for the same channel.
You can add the same Twitch, YouTube or Reddit channel several times, as long as each notification posts to a different Discord channel.
Social links
Under Social links you enter your server’s links; members call them up with /socials.
