Levels & XP
XP for messages and voice, leaderboards, reward roles, prestige and daily challenges.
How it works
Members earn XP for messages and time in voice chat. With enough XP they level up – ZoneBuddy announces it in the channel of your choice and, if you like, assigns reward roles.
Setup
- Dashboard → Levels & XP. Turn on “XP enabled”.
- XP settings: cooldown between two XP messages, XP range per message and XP per voice minute.
- Choose the level-up channel (empty = the channel where the message was written).
- Rewards: “Add reward” → choose level and role.
The XP curve shows you right away how much XP each level needs.
Tip: The ZoneBuddy role must be above the reward roles, otherwise the bot can’t assign them.
Prestige and challenges
- Prestige (Dashboard → Lottery & pot → Prestige): from a certain level, members can start over and get permanent bonuses.
- Daily challenges (Dashboard → Shop): small tasks with coins and XP as rewards.
Commands
- /challenge status – Task and progress
- /challenge claim – Claim the reward
Common problems
No XP is awarded. Check that XP is enabled and the channel isn’t set to “no XP”. The cooldown applies between two messages.
The role isn’t assigned. The ZoneBuddy role is below the reward role – drag it up in the server settings.
Seasons
Besides total XP, your server can run seasons: a separate leaderboard per week, month or quarter, where everyone starts at zero again. Every XP counts – from messages, voice, challenges and the shop.
Dashboard → Levels & XP → Seasons: turn on, choose the length, optionally a channel for the announcement, a champion role for 1st place (moves on every season) and coins for the top 3.
At the end of a season, the bot posts the final standings, assigns role and coins and stores the season in the Hall of Fame.
- /season standings – Top 10 of the current season
- /season archive – Winners of past seasons
Design the rank card
Dashboard → Levels & XP → Design rank card: upload your own background image (PNG, JPEG or WebP – automatically cropped to the card format), set an accent color or take it automatically from the avatar, darkening for good readability and optionally the server logo on the card. Applies to /rank and the level-up card. The image is stored on our server.
