Getting started

Invite ZoneBuddy, set the right permissions and set up the dashboard – ready in five minutes.

1. Invite ZoneBuddy

Click Invite on the home page, choose your server and confirm the permissions. You need the “Manage Server” permission on that server.

Tip: Keep the suggested permissions checked. If the bot is missing a permission, individual modules won’t work (e.g. tickets without “Manage Channels”).

2. Position the role correctly

Discord only lets a bot assign roles below its own role. Open Server Settings → Roles and drag the ZoneBuddy role above all roles the bot should assign or moderate – for example level roles, role menus, birthday or giveaway roles.

3. Sign in to the dashboard

Open app.zonebuddy.de, sign in with Discord and choose your server. You only see servers where you have Manage Server or are registered as a bot master.

4. The most important settings

  • Language: ZoneBuddy replies in English or German – switch under Settings → Bot language or with /language. New servers start in their Discord language.
  • Settings: set the mod log channel and the bot master role for your team. Bot masters can view and moderate in the dashboard.
  • Welcome: greetings with an image card, optionally with welcome characters.
  • AutoMod: spam, link and word filters.
  • Tickets: support, application or report tickets – see Tickets.
  • Stat channels: member count & co. in the channel list – see Stat channels.

5. Get going

Economy, levels and games work right away. Try in chat:

/daily
Claim your daily coins
/coinflip <bet> <side>
Heads or tails — a hit doubles your bet
/rank [user]
Show your rank card
/profile [user]
Profile with level, coins, prestige, games and achievements

Tip: Almost all commands also work with a prefix, e.g. !daily or !coinflip 100 heads. You set the prefix in the dashboard under Settings.

Common problems

The bot doesn’t respond to commands. Check whether ZoneBuddy can see the channel and write there. After inviting, slash commands can take a few minutes until Discord shows them.

Roles aren’t assigned. The ZoneBuddy role is below the role that should be assigned – see step 2.
