Invites
Who invited whom? ZoneBuddy counts real invites, shows a leaderboard and assigns reward roles.
How it works
When someone joins, ZoneBuddy checks which invite was just used and assigns the person to the inviter. Counting is honest:
| Type | Counts? |
|---|---|
| New member stays on the server | ✅ yes |
| Member leaves the server again | ❌ is deducted |
| Account younger than e.g. 7 days (“fake”) | ❌ no |
| Someone joins for the second time | ❌ no (rejoin) |
| Inviting yourself | ❌ no |
| Bonus from the team | ➕ is added |
If someone joins via the server’s vanity link (e.g. discord.gg/yourserver) or the invite is ambiguous, the list shows “Vanity link” or “not detectable”.
Setup
Dashboard → Invites.
- Turn on Count invites.
- ZoneBuddy needs the “Manage Server” permission – only with it can invites be read. If it’s missing, the dashboard shows a “Grant permission” button.
- Optional: log channel with a custom message on every join.
- Optional: reward roles – e.g. “Recruiter” from 5 and “Ambassador” from 25 invites. If you like, the role is removed again when the count drops.
Counting starts when you turn it on – unfortunately Discord can’t provide earlier joins.
Important: For reward roles, the ZoneBuddy role must be above those roles.
Placeholders
In the log text and in the welcome message:
| Placeholder | Meaning |
|---|---|
{inviter} |
Name of the inviter (or “Vanity link” / “Unknown”) |
{inviter.mention} |
Mention of the inviter |
{invites} |
Their invites in total (including this one) |
The German spellings {einlader}, {einlader.mention} and {einladungen} work the same way.
Leaderboard and bonus
In the dashboard you see the leaderboard with real invites, leaves and fake accounts, as well as the latest joins. Via Bonus you add invites to someone or deduct some – e.g. for an event.
- /invites info [member] – Invites of a person (default: you)
- /invites top – The inviters leaderboard
Privacy: Only who came via whose invite and when someone joined or left is stored – see Privacy.
